Senior Business Licensing And Government Affairs Executive  

Job Summary
The Senior Executive is responsible for serving as a key liaison between the company and government authorities, local councils and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth application, renewal, and compliance of all required licenses. The position requires frequent external engagement, strong communication skills, and the ability to expedite processes efficiently.


Job Responsibilities

  1. Liaise and maintain good working relationships with government agencies, local authorities and regulatory bodies on licensing, compliance and business-related matters.
  2. Act as the main point of contact for government and authority-related matters, including meetings, discussions, site visits and inspections.
  3. Monitor updates on regulations, licensing requirements and government policies affecting retail operations and controlled goods distribution.
  4. Coordinate with relevant internal departments and outlets to address regulatory requirements, enquiries and matters raised by authorities.
  5. Follow up proactively on applications, approvals, inspections and outstanding matters to ensure timely resolution.
  6. Identify opportunities to improve and streamline licensing and regulatory processes.
  7. Maintain proper records of licences, permits, regulatory documents and correspondence with authorities.
  8. Prepare regular updates and reports on licensing status, compliance matters and regulatory issues for Management.
  9. Willing to travel frequently for meetings, site visits and on-ground follow-ups with authorities.
  10. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Law, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in licensing, regulatory compliance, or government affairs (retail/FMCG experience is an advantage).
  • Familiarity with National and State Local Councils Law and Regulation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with government authorities and local councils.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously.
  • Willing to travel frequently and work outside the office.
  • Must possess own transport.
