Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to drive category performance through strategic assortment planning, strong supplier partnerships, and effective sales and margin management. This role plays a key part in delivering business growth and enhancing product offerings across all stores.


Job Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute category strategies aligned with market trends and business objectives
2. Manage product assortment, including new product development and innovation
3. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including leading commercial negotiations
4. Monitor sales performance, margins, and product productivity to drive growth
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and availability
6. Ensure compliance with company policies and governance standards
7. Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirement

• 5–10 years of experience in category management, merchandising, sourcing, or purchasing (Retail/FMCG)
• Strong experience in supplier management and commercial negotiations
• Proven track record in assortment planning and margin management
• Good understanding of market trends and consumer behaviour
• Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-outlet retail environment is an advantage
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients
